Took advantage of a cloud free day today to practice shooting birds in flight (with a camera of course!). This herring gull conveniently "posed" in a diagonal position. Tony, great composition on more than one count -- subject in a diagonal + use of negative space. A very cooperative herring gull!

Diagonal cables guiding the tram back to ground. Thanks for the theme Sepiana! Bill, beautiful image! I really like how the diagonal goes across the frame, downwards, drawing our eyes all the way to the ground.

Was afraid I was going to miss my "Monday Challenge" again. But getting up from dinner I realized that this shelf could work. Presenting in color and B/W as I don't know which one I like best. Helen, this shelf came handy for shooting in a diagonal angle. Great job!

The diagonal I see every time I look out my workplace window! Cropped so that you don't have to look at all of the avocado (?) siding! cjt, interesting interpretation of this theme. An eye-catching mix of diagonal, vertical, and horizontal lines.

Diagonal overkill ... All taken today, January 10 in the river valley. Clive, great finding! Subjects in a diagonal are not easy to find in nature. Good thing your camera noticed them.

A very diagonal roof - and the trees behind are growing diagonally too..Tony Tony, great shot! Diagonals going to the left and to the right, coupled with vertical and horizontal lines. Very geometric!

A stream cutting Diagonally across a wintery panorama that I ran across today on my drive. (Actually, when I look closely, this photo has more diagonals than I could ever hope to count.) Rick, yes, I keep coming back to look at the variety of diagonals. Beautiful winter scene, well-composed, light do die for.

Not the most picturesque section of the Thames Path as it flows through an industrial area in Woolwich, east London, but these two conveyor belts provide me with just the diagonal I have been seeking for this week's theme. Brenda Brenda, visually appealing composition. I like how the two diagonals cross each other in the middle of the frame. The sun light brings out their structural details.

Couldn't resist the clouds this morning as they were very diagonal - I think they would be called a Mackerel Sky . Took a few of the clouds themselves for my sky replacement collection and then this one including the diagonal branches of a black walnut tree. Tony, two for the price of one. The diagonal clouds make the perfect background for the diagonal tree branches. This would make a great triptych.

So windy here today and was looking for something for today's picture and nothing worked....until I saw the diagonal shadows cast by the lights on top of the garage. Helen, I like how the diagonal line of lights/shadows draws our eyes from the foreground to the background. Nicely done!
