I have PPSuite8 which I got free awhile back. I was under the impression from this thread that I could also get PPS9 as a free download. What I have got is Perfect Effects9 not Perfect Photo Suite9 . Can someone please set me straight ? Did I download from the wrong place or do I have to pay to get PPS9.? Thanks. Storm
Storm - This caught me out too. The free download is for Perfect Effects 9 only. An upgrade to the full suite costs $$$/.

Well, I bit the bullet and bought the upgrade from PPS8, and I'm pretty happy with it, so there was a happy ending.
The best way is to do a Windows search for the products - just use Perfect effcts as your search key.

Storm I Hi Storm, There were a couple of announcements recently that I think may have caused some confusion. The upgrade from PPS9 to PPS9.5 is free. Also, Perfect Effects 9 have been made available for free. However, to upgrade your PPS8 to PPS9 will probably cost some $$.

Just adding some clarification.
I believe onOne has always offered two versions of Perfect Effects -- a purchased version and a free one. However, if I remember it correctly, the free version lacks some of the features, frames, and effects available in the purchased version.

Sepiana - you correct; the free version is different than the full version ... I would suggest that the full version is worth buying ... you get free upgrades forever (or at least for now I have downloaded 9.5 but haven't installed it yet ... just been too busy with other parts of life to play much .... Nicole Young did a quick video on the Luminosity Mask feature in PPS 9.5, here: photofocus.com/2015/05/04/on1-luminosity-mask/We have made the full version of Perfect Effects free from time to time. Right now, we've made it free to 500px users, but if you keep it on the download, here's a link that should be available for another week or so. www.on1.com/500px/

Ron, have you tried out the luminosity masks? So hope they have some good tuts on using thosoe and that they work well....to me that is a huge feature. Hi Helen, I'm still on version 8 but have been using luminosity masks for years, they are in my curvmeister 3 plugin for Elements and I find them very useful so am sure you will find the ones in the new version of PPS9 very useful. As a example here I used it to adjust skin brightness but useful for all type of images. A little over the top for demonstration only. Before After

Thanks, Paul. They were one of my photography goals for this year and I still haven't tackled them. I have always admired the way you handle light in your images. Hopefully it will serve as an incentive to get moving on this!
