Took me a couple of tries till I got one I was satisfied with as well, Jim. Works nicely on the interesting building above.

I followed the tutorial for this one same as for my first attempt except when it came to the vignette effect. I’m not particularly keen on the vignette effect as used in the tut as I don’t feel it gives a believable edge to what is supposed to be a painterly image. So I have taken the liberty to dispense with the vignette and replace it with a ‘free grunge frame’ in .png form from the all-free-download.com site. I placed it at the top of the layer stack and inverted it to give the finished result. Image from Pixabay.  |

Wanted to try the tut with the subject being a person. Cut this performer out of an image, followed the tutorial steps, added a textured paper and then a vignette. Thanks for this  |

It's almost like no effect, Yes, but the subtle effect works when blown up. |
