srmoment, I may be wrong (and, if I am, someone please correct me) but it looks like you are working with 16-bit files in PSE 2024. Elements offers limited support for these files. If you didn't have this problem with PSE 2023, I am assuming you were working with 8-bit files. See . . . Working with 16-bit Files -- Some ThoughtsIf this is the case, go to Image > Mode > Select . . . 8-bits/Channel.

Why do I get this message once I have brought a raw file (Sony) in through PSE's editor. Hi Pat The limitations of 16 bit in PSE have been explained. For what it's worth ... When an ARW (Sony raw) image is opened in PSE it opens first in ACR, right? And this is what it looks like. We have the option to select 8 or 16 bits. I have always left depth at 8 bits. 8 bit works for me. IMHO, there are far more things to worry about in photography and editing than whether an image has 17 million colors available or 281 trillion colors (16 bit). (Tongue in cheek comment. ) Clive

Having used the PSE24 Editor for a while I have found the action in Quick to Add Blue sky with a blue sky very useful and effective 90% of the time. I do have to go into Advanced to reduce the percentage though as the default is far from realistic - at least, as far as UK skies are concerned.

Clip the H/S adjustment layer to the Sky Preset Group layer. 3. Adjust the Saturation slider until you are happy with the results. 4. If needed, adjust also the Lightness slider.

To be honest I am completely underwhelmed by the 'new' features. I've spent the afternoon going through them and very little impressed me. I tried the blue sky option and it 'blued' more than the sky so the subject in the photo had a blue edge even though it wasn't touching the sky area. Opening eyes was scary but would be invaluable for Halloween! It could be that I don't 'fix' my photos enough and should rescue more but I'd prefer to get them right via the camera (if only I could remember what to do!) I had PSE22 and, sadly, don't consider PSE24 worth the £70+ my husband paid for it. I should have waited longer and really looked at what was on offer. I'd be interested to see what others thing about it. If you purchaced the product from Adobe, they offer a 30 day money back guarantee. helpx.adobe.com/cy_en/x-productkb/policy-pricing/return-cancel-or-change-order.htmlKind regards Chris

Why do I get this message once I have brought a raw file (Sony) in through PSE's editor. The layer is locked, which is normal, but when I try to do something with the layer (i.e. make a copy) I get this message. I did not have this problem with 2023. Once your main RAW adjustments have been done, the image should be just fine converted to 8 bit. 8 bit will only have difficulty correcting extremes in bright and dark areas. But that can be sorted in RAW before converting to 8 bit. Kind regards Chris

I implemented PSE 2024. I had PSE 2021 with Topaz Gigapixel. I could start Topaz Gigapixel from within PSE 2021. How do I start Topaz Gigapixel from within PSE 2024?

Hi bob1234 , welcome to PSE&M! I also have PSE 2024 and Topaz Gigapixel. I just ran the installer. This plug-in will be accessed via File > Automation Tools. NOTE: Make sure Elements is closed while you are installing this plug-in.

Thanks You may need to uninstall and reinstall Gigapixel and restart. If that fails, you could start a support case with Topaz. Kind regards Chris

The special $59 option is only available on the USA site. Is there any reason I can't buy it from that site. I am in South Africa where it is averitized at more than double?

Not a reply but an addition to the above
I have just gone through the comparrison of 2024 with 2023, which is my current version, and the addional functions seems to be in the Create & Share, which I do not use. Possibly the two editing functions "Match colours & tones" and "One click sky or background"
I was hoping for masking in the ACR module and pixel enhansing. Possibly using an AI program like HitPaw Photo Enhanser would yield more for my money?
