Luna Park, Sydney, which was modelled on Coney Island and has had a rough ride (pun intended) over the years but always manages to survive. It's on the northern foreshore adjacent to the bridge and North Sydney Olympic Swimming Pool, opened in 1936.

The Coney Island I knew was in Cincinnati and the name has been King's Island for the last fifty years --- if it even still exists.
Such theme parks here in the states have been disappearing over the last several years; Opryland has been gone for years and Tombstone Junction longer than that.
Well....., I just looked, and it appears that there is also a Coney Island in Brooklin, New York; AND, there is a Luna Park in that Coney Island.

Thanks for the inspiration; I just now did the sitting in a wash-pan trick and was going to take a selfie but managed to knock over the tripod while I was getting situated.

AND, there is a Luna Park in that Coney Island To quote Michael Caine, not a lot of people know that. Me included.

Nice picture.
I can't help but notice that all three hinges on each shutter are pointing up; I always turn the center hinge to point down to prevent someone being able to lift it off the hinges.
Same with a gate; if you don't, thieves can lift the locked gate off the hinges and gain access that way; and, if a cow or bull pokes his head through the gate, he can come after you wearing the gate around his neck.

Notice how the water from the flowers has ran down the wall; one has to wonder whether the same thing might be happening between the stone and inner wall; hopefully the window sill is such as to prevent that.

Thanks for starting this thread Clive. I'll keep it in mind on my morning walks. Here's an old one from (coincidentally) exactly three years ago. I call it "Moving Day - Has Anybody Seen Grandpa?" Bill
