Ahh, Dave. So sorry you weren't able to have your issue resolved. I can understand your frustration but it does seem like Adobe must be frustrated as well at this point. As hard as it is, sometimes it is best to recognize that you have done all that you can.....and "throw in the towel". I hope that you will still find opportunities to participate in our forum....we look forward to having you join us. Hi Helen. I have not given up yet, but am still investigating. Unless someone here knows different, I am thinking that there is a compatibility issue between Elements 2024, and Windows 10. Why?, because when, as an experiment, I installed Elements 2024 on my i5 based laptop which is running Windows 11, it worked fine.

I have decided to "bite the bullet", and buy a new PC. My Lenovo desktop top PC, although well specd, is quite a few year old now, and not upgradable to Windows 11. Sooner or later it will probably fail, so probably time to move on. New PC on order with a 1TB ssd, 16GB of RAM, and a DVD writer which is a bit of a rarity now.

As an experiment I installed Elements 2024 on my i5 based laptop, and it worked fine. The difference is the laptop had never had Elements, or any other image editing application installed on it before, and it is running Windows 11, not Windows 10. I have to wonder if there is a compatibility issue between Elements 2024, and Windows 10. Dave, In their system requirements for PSE 2024, this is what Adobe has to say . . . Source: PSE 2024 - System RequirementsI'm no Windows OS expert but I cannot imagine that the presence of other versions of Elements would cause the problem you are having with PSE 2024. Here is what I have . . . Computer #1 -- Windows 11 Pro Computer #2 -- Windows 10 Pro Computer #1 -- PSE 2024 along with PSE 7, PSE 10 through PSE 2023. Computer #2 -- PSE 2024 along with PSE 7, PSE 10 through PSE 2023. All versions are living together in perfect harmony and working flawlessly. No problems whatsoever!

Well whatever the source of the problem is, its real, and has defied all efforts the resolve it. Even Adobe's Support Team gave up. I removed all traces of previous of Elements versions from the PC, except from the Registry, as I didn't want to go poking around in there. There may or may not be items linked to Elements in there. Every other application on the PC has no problems, just the Editor part of Elements 2024. I am not an expert in computer programming, albeit I did write some programs in C++ to control some test equipment back in my working days. Either way this PC is now going to be archived, even though it has served me well for many years. I now have the time consuming job of populating, and commissioning the new PC when it arrives, I can then get on with my photography, and stop chasing this Adobe Gremlin.

If you have Canon printers, it may be worth trying to print using Canon Print Studio Pro. A free download on Canon's website that integrates with PSE and accessed through Automation Tools in File menu.
I have used it for many years and its great, giving precise control over print quality in a very clear UI.
It may help bypass whatever problem PSE is throwing at you.

G'Day Howard, and thanks for that input. I have three Canon printers, two photo printers, and one general purpose. I will give that a try, but the new PC is arriving today, and there is lot, and I mean lot, of stuff to be moved over from the old PC which will take most of the day and beyond.

Success!!. The new PC arrived, and commssioned. Elements 2024 loaded, and I can now print again from the Editor. I bought a 1TB M2 SSD, and installed it as second drive, where as with the old PC (SSD C Drive and HDD E Drive) I will store my images, and videos etc. Just need to load all Gigabytes of Programs, and data from the old PC. which will take some time.

Nice to know that this wasn't an Elements issue. Good luck with your new pc.

Great news.
When you're done migrating everything I still recommend giving Canon Print Shop Pro a go if you print photos. Far easier and more control than the standard print interface and easy to install different profiles for whatever paper you choose to use.

I will investigate that Howard. At the moment, still migrating, then back it all up to an external drive. After that I can 'play' with the new PC 😉

I had a look into Canon Print Studio Pro, it is apparently only for Canon's Professional range of printers, and none of my three Canon printers of Pro models.
