Walking and Running Well it is the first day of August and the first Thursday of the month. Being the first Thursday, it is also time for the month's B&W challenge. Walking or running will be the black and white challenge theme for August, 2024. I am looking for photos of people or animals including reptiles, birds or insects that are obviously walking or running. (The subjects can't be just standing on legs but displaying obvious walking or running action.) My examples were processed in ACR with adjustments to levels and contrast. They were all desaturated in ACR. Most were then adjusted in PSE using the Gradient Map Adjustment layer (with B & W set as the foreground and background "colours") to do minor level tweaks to B, W and grays as needed ... to my eye. I look forward to your walking or running B&W photos. Clive Cat and mouse

Interesting topic with some nice examples, Clive. Looking through my files I came up with a few that will work for this theme. Nice set of "walking" photos. Varied subjects. Thanks for posting, Helen.

Not a lot of colour when I shot this Doberman walking in the snow so appropriate for B&W! Tony

Thanks to Tony, Judy and Peter for their recent photos. Peterj ...is the mountain lion in the wild? Not really. The Arizona Desert Museum is outdoors; it's a rescue facility for the injured that keeps animals that are not fit for release into the wild.
