Thank you. I will try that tomorrow. And now I need to do a I feel so stupid, especially where I posted my complaint here. My husband told me the reason why the first tech was repeating everything I said was because he was speaking into a speech translator so he could read on the screen what I was saying in his own language. I will remember that and be more patient.

Thank you for all of your time and help! None of this worked. I finally did get 14 to respond after uninstalling 11 and stopping some of my start ups that were still running in the background and which were not needed.

I may be wrong but I don't think Elements 11 was the culprit here. Each version of Elements is an independent one. As I said before, I have six versions of Elements installed on the same computer. No problems whatsoever! Anyway, glad something finally worked for you.
As a side note -- Adobe removed several features from Elements in version 12. If you used those features in Elements 11, you may want to re-install this version.
