Most of the contributions this week have featured the colours of nature. Doing the shopping this morning, I found the commercial colours of the season - and, incidentally, remembered to buy the store of goodies for the small army of witches and goblins we will shortly be seeing.

Another contribution - Next year's bread (or cake, muffins, doughnuts, etc.) - for all of the city slickers, this is what winter wheat looks like in the fall.

Taking pictures of the beautiful colours of the trees' annual pre-shedding of their leaves is a non-starter in my neck of the woods....the leaves seem to remain as green as possible until the last minute, then overnight turn yellowish with a tinge of orange and then you blink and the trees are bare! However I did spot this pumpkin display in my local supermarket: Bayla

Tony – Quite interesting use of your fisheye lens! You ended up with a very eye-catching image. Rick – You found colors of the season in a very unusual place (corn). Great finding!
Bill – Great capture and great thinking out of the box! Now we are talking. Go Packers!!!
Tom – Beautiful colors and an unexpected subject (peppers). Well done!
J – Great image! I keep going back to look at the seasonal colors you captured.
Brenda – You came through with flying colors. What a finding! Commercial colors of the season.
Phil – Two beautiful images! I love the subtle seasonal colors you captured.
Rick – Another great capture! I really like the leading lines created by the winter wheat.
Bayla – Great finding and such an original idea! No colorful leaves? Go for the pumpkins.
Helen – You caught a very colorful (and seasonal) fisherman. Great interpretation of this theme!

These are the colors of the season I saw just outside our bedroom window earlier today. They are not at their peak yet, just at about 65%, but getting there. Hopefully the gutsy winds will subside and the rain prediction won’t come true.

It looks as if the squirrel is posing. Did he say "cheese" ? What a great capture.
