Well, I made the move this morning and everything seems to be working well. I spent an hour or so setting it up and removing/disabling the rubbish I don't need. Haven't tried to print yet, but I expect if any issues arise a quick driver update is all that may be required.
Thank you all for your input and helping me decide to go for the upgrade.

I am now running windows 10 and wish to make a backup of the CD that came with my camera. I don't know if I have forgotten something or if something has changed, but I can't seem to figure out how to do it.
I mean, I could create a folder and copy all the files from the CD and then copy those to a blank CD, but it seems like it used to be easier than that.
