One thing I miss here is that you can't immediately see where someone is from unless you click on their name to see their profile, which I can't be bothered to do.
Sometimes it can be useful to see where somebody hails from especially when dispensing advice that may be country specific.
Also, I'm sure that in the past EV members were able to get together physically after discovering they were in the same State or town.

Yes, Bayla, I totally agree and also have missed that aspect. Also, being able to see where, geographically, posters are living does add something. It's handy to notice which country, sometimes, so you can appreciate it could be another 24 hours before a particular reader may be able to see a post, due to the different time zones etc. I just find it so interesting to appreciate different ways of life etc in different countries as well as the way something might be said locally, as Bayla suggests. So, for now, I think I'll put my location in my signature but will continue to hope it goes near the avatar at some point

What a good idea - I think I've done that too. Edit to say that I've now put my home town beneath my Avatar. Thanks for setting this up for us.

Bayla OK, I have put that in place; please look at the mini-profile to the left of a post. If you spot any formatting errors please let me know! What you see is whatever you entered in your Location field in your profile. Thanks for the good idea Bayla!

I am a bit confused on this one, I see location under the photo of Chris Ann and location in the signature of Squirrel, but they are the only ones. I have entered my location in my profile but don't think it shows up anywhere. Any ideas or advice on how this should be set up. It's nice to see what a global community we have here.

Pauline, your location is being displayed. It is underneath your avatar, just below the number of posts.

This is weird, sometimes I see locations, sometimes not…… earlier I could see Chris Ann but now it has gone. Here is a screen shot of what I am seeing right now. Is there a setting I need to change?

This is what I'm seeing just now If the member has filled in the box in the profile, it should show just under 'posts' Some, like myself, have put location in both profile and signature. It sounds as if you are not seeing it if written in profile, for some reason

Rapata -
It may be that you were accidentally (or you purposely) logged out. If so, you will not see the geographical location.

The mystery continues. I was logged in, but logged out and back in just in case that was the cause, no difference. I have looked through all the settings in my profile and have my own location entered in my profile and my signature, but still do not see anyone's locations.
