As usual for me, I am posting my IOW selections early, as work (and mince pie making) will get in the way of a timely post tomorrow.
First of all, thank you to everyone who uploaded their work to their gallery this past week - we appreciate you sharing your work with us. Secondly, you did not make my decisions easy, there were so many great images I would have liked to have recognized, but alas, I cannot mention them all, so, in no particular order, here are my honourable mentions.
Celebrating the Snow by angelag - Living in Alberta, this is what this week looks like for us and I can totally identify with her comment on the photo: "I've changed my mind about snow ever since I became an adult and had to drive in it to get to work!" Despite my dislike of driving in snowy and icy conditions, I do appreciate these kids having a great time and making the most of the snow.
Norwegian Fjord by Sydney - Wow - what a view! The fjord leads you right into and through the photo and the mountains are just magnificent. Wonderful photo!
Oak at sunrise by alexr - I love the way the morning mist still lingers in this photo and who can resist a mighty English Oak tree? This tree really does make me want to go back to my childhood to enjoy one last climb in a tree. Thank you for taking me back Alex!
And the IOW this week goes to:
Fresh snow by blackmutt - This to me is magic - I love everything about it, but most of all the minimalism of the scene. This is just so serene that all I can do is stare at it and admire the fresh, untouched snow.
Again, thank you everyone for sharing your work with us all.
I hope everyone will have a relatively smooth lead up to Christmas. Enjoy the holidays, time with family and friends, good food and we look forward to seeing perhaps some of the festivities you captured.
