Find a template with multiple photo blocks Merge the photo blocks into one layer Clip one photo to those photo blocks In this case, I removed all the extraneous stuff from the scrapbook template and kept only the photo blocks and the background paper that "framed" the photo blocks - just so we could focus on the technique itself. I kept the colored backgrounds behind each photo square each on it's own layer - I merged only the photo blocks. This is what my template looks like - you cannot tell the photo squares are merged into one layer... .. so look at my layers This is what my layers look like after merging the photo blocks
This is the finished product. This is one photo clipped to the photo block layer:

Obviously, your results will have degrees of success - depending on the photo. And realize, you do not have to have any framing effect behind your photo squares - it can be plain and simple. But you can see you will have a great start to a scrapbook page - with an interesting twist.

BillieJean - I wasn't suggesting to leave it plain, so I'm so glad you decided to embellish it. It added just the right finishing touch. Mine was plain to keep focus on the technique - plus, I was too lazy to finish my page. LOL
Jackscrap - yours turned out nice, too. It reminded me of an Easter Egg ornament. So pretty.

Thanks for another fun project, Janice. I had a very busy picture that while not perfect, did lend itself to the windows of the storyboard.....from CoffeeShop I used a texture for the page's color.

Didn't know the technique would work that well as the basis for beautiful pages. I love how this turned out. A perfect beach scene. Plus you've shown how great it looks without matting the photos.

Here's my try at a nautical theme - worked on it for a few hours and ... After 10 years doing digital scrapbooking, you would think I could get away from plain and ordinary
I enlarged my template and turned it so the ships would be completely in the photo squares. Now, the song won't get out of my head "I saw three ships come sailing in, on Christmas Day, on Christmas Day..."

Nice page Janice. Beautiful photo, it must be something to see ships like those in real life. They look like the essence of luxury. Clever adjustment of your template to accommodate the photo the way you wanted.

Beautiful work ladies. I would like to try this, but I am not sure where to source a template with multiple photo blocks so that I can get started with a project.
