Tpgettys......it's just another day. Thinking about it just makes it that much more weighty. If you think too much then you'll start to think you're old, then you'll start to act old.....then you'll be old. Just keep doing all of the things you did 40 years ago, the same way you did them then. That way, you'll stay about 30 for the rest of your life. Easy-peezy..... Thanks for that Bob; wise words for sure! Regarding your image, what do you think about this idea: use the magic wand with a tolerance of about 10, contiguous on to select the foreground trees, then paint them full black to increase the contrast.

Tpgettys...... Time does not really care about what we believe it could be doing. So, we might as well follow the most suitable path we find to benefit as much as possible from the best moments it has to offer. Especially in the present. Cheers!

bobharron .....thanks for taking this challenge off of life-support! Hope your post will encourage some additional entries before the next challenge is posted next week. Your self portrait is a perfect submission for shadows and I like the way it dominates the image....creative and well-done!

Another image where the shadow is dominant and helps to create an interesting perspective.....this one is certainly all about the shadow...another nice entry!

I've taken this with my phone and edited with a phone app. Please let me know it has to be taken with a camera. Thanks.

christell, so glad to see you join in this challenge! You've presented us with an intriguing shadow.....I took the liberty of taking a screen shot of your image and adding it to your post. This way it immediately shows up on this page. The only requirement is that the image be black and white.....and follow the monthly theme.

Helen, thanks for doing that. Trying to figure out how to get the picture to show like you did in my post from my phone. It wasn't letting me copy and paste from my picture photos. I'll keep playing with it.

So once again my image isn't quite a shadow in the traditional sense, because the shadow is falling on the camera lens. Still, I quite like it and wanted to share it.

This is a shot I took in Calgary of giant statues casting shadows on the ground.

Sydney, I know those statues, as Calgary is just a 20 minute drive from our home!
