Ritage - Very clever bear crossing. My choice is the color version, but it is a nice black and white sketch effect.
BillieJean - Very good smoke effect in combination with the midnight express interpretation.

Rita I love both of yours but find myself gravitating more towards your B&W artistic interpretation. Very nice...
kdcintx that's a great snowy scene you have created...I'm shivering already...

Thank you, kdcintx and Lillias. Now I'm glad I posted both, I couldn't decide.

kdcintx .. that's very neat, or should I say, "very cool." Nice. This is the border tunnel between Heilongjiang Province, China and Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region (IMAR), April 30, 2004. We took the "night train" between Harbin and Hailar. Would not have missed it for the world. Good times. Rather crude transplant of the train into my old, low-quality photo.

Great idea though, Clive. And you have even got it tilting on the bend.

BillieJean, nicely done! Great brush work. The smoke looks very natural.

Rita, if I had to choose, I would go for the first one. I envision it as an illustration for a children's book. Great job!

Through a snowy mountain pass kdcintx, I love this! It could be a Christmas card with the caption . . . "Going home for Christmas". Would you please share how you achieved this effect?

Thank you Sepiana for your kind comments. I used ON1 PhotoRaw2018. The highlights and shadows were slightly tweaked to increase contrast. Then used a filter downloaded in the "Alternative Processes" category called Daguerrotype. Then I enchanced the blue color using the "Color Enhancer." I was surprised that the combination of these effects made the highlights look like snow.

I need to try it.
