Stretching the limits of vertical lines perhaps. Across the street: willow stems (somewhat vertical), vertical spruce cones (told you it was a stretch..they are sort of vertical) and some shoreline grass. Clive Clive, great thinking out of the box, going for Nature-made vertical lines. Beautiful shots! The details are impressive.

Line 'em up! Thanks Sepiana. Bill, vertical lines created by books on a shelf. What an image! The B&W processing was perfect for the subject; it brought up the details on those old books' covers.

It was nice to see some sun today and had to stop and catch this silhouette of several vertical structures against an interesting sky. Pity the contrails are horizontal and not vertical lines in the sky but the planes were heading into Detroit and not flying to the moon Tony, great capture -- silhouettes, several vertical lines, and the bonus of interesting cloud formations. An image to go on the wall!

A power pole and two fence posts. Again, the background is dark clouds vs blue sky. Late afternoon sun was shining on the foreground. November 22 near Lethbridge, Alberta. Clive, great capture! Amazing light and colors. This is a classic!

One more - with rather a lot of vertical lines. In fact they are pipes and it's a fountain but shut off for the winter so I was able to get up close for a picture and not get wet! Tony, you captured vertical lines galore (and very unusual ones). Colorful and sharp image. Great DOF!

Two shots of "verticals" from the ever-rewarding Thames Path - I never tire of walking it through London. The first shot was taken at St Saviour's Dock, said to have been Dickens' inspiration for Fagin's hideout in "Oliver Twist". The second shot was a gift, peeping through the gates of Greenwich Yacht Club near the Thames Barrier. Brenda, perfect for this week’s theme! Great job capturing such different "verticals". I really like how you composed your first shot -- with leading lines. The literary angle is a bonus!

At a Thanksgiving parade. Notice the vertical ties holding the vertically floating bear and the vertical columns of windows in the building kdcintx, you have the eyes of a photographer. Great shot displaying two different vertical lines. Very clear and sharp!

Lots of vertical lines seen yesterday on the Docklands Light Railway - not in the rush hour!

Orlando's "Star Flyer" - Tallest swing ride in the world at 450 feet. Wayne, this takes top honors -- the tallest vertical line in this challenge. Colorful and sharp image!
