Hi everyone, Would you like to participate in the Weekly Photo Challenge? Just take a photo that is your interpretation of the theme and post it in this thread. - Your photo(s) should be your own, i.e., they should not have been taken by someone else. - Photoshopping is allowed but should be kept to the basics only rather than a total transformation. - Grab your camera, experiment, and, most of all, have fun.
NOTE
This week's theme was suggested by billz . (Thanks, Bill!)

I'll start it off with the Fall/Halloween tradition to decorate - in this case with pumpkins, gourds and a pair of scarecrows Tony

An autumn tradition for Portland photographers is to visit the Japanese Garden to shoot 'the tree'. It's iconic to calendars, posters, postcards, books, etc., to the point that it is referred to not just as 'the tree', but as "The Money Tree" for all the revenue it has generated. If there is a single shot in Portland that is over photographed ... the honor goes to the tree. And yet the pilgrimages continue. The tree is about 95% spent for the season, but nothing stops the intrepid hoards of photogs. Here's the crew shooting what's left of it this morning. Thanks for the theme Sepiana!! I'll leave it up to the group to decide whether any of these folks might also be plumbers. ;-)

The tradition of Halloween. Bit early yet. This is the only house I have seen decorated. At the top of the black netting, is a skeleton head. But I couldn't fit that in.

I love the history behind "the tree". It took me a while but I got the plumbers reference. “By George, I think SHE’S got it”

Good idea getting close to your subject; it helps the viewers see the details of the Halloween decorations.

The stile has always been the traditional way for walkers to cross field boundaries... ...but it is increasingly being replaced by the romantically named kissing gate. Brenda Brenda, great thinking out of the box -- an old tradition along with a new one (in the making)! I really like how you got close to your subject enabling the viewers to see the structure details.

Another tradition is to always finish our walk by popping into a pub for a pint! Brenda Brenda, this takes top honors. What an interpretation of Tradition! The expression on his face says it all. Priceless!

Well, if we do it every spring and late fall and have for several years, it is close to tradition, right? As posted previously, in spring and fall, tens of thousands of snow geese lay over in southern Alberta on their way to and from the south where they winter. They should be showing up within a week or two. Alas, once again it looks like they won't linger here for long because temperatures have been close to record cold and unless it warms the larger lakes will freeze again too soon and they will move on. In good warm, late falls they can stay for weeks until there are tens of thousands on one or two local lakes. It is amazing and I can't wait. I'll never tire of watching and listening to them. So in my books it is a tradition. You are all invited. These lifted off from feeding near one of the main mustering lakes. November 2018. Snow geese.
