In case anybody is wondering why I haven't been posting, it is because I am still having problems. I installed my PSE 15 on to my new computer. But, it will not work. I have removed, and put it back twice, but get the same window showing. I only have one computer, so can't understand why this notice keeps coming on. I did put the correct registration number in. I never had this trouble after my computer had been in the shop some months ago, and I had to put PSE back on then. Edit.. . . This is how the window opens - with the black dot already there.

whippet Best thing I can suggest is to find an Adobe help number for the UK and call them. When I bought a new laptop last November, they solved my problem for me. My new machine does not have a DVD optical drive so having the disks was no good to me. I called and provided the serial number (key) and they emailed me links where I could download the 2018 version (and Premier video editor) and it was fine. I still needed the key to install it. Anyway, the help desk was most cooperative. Clive

Thank you both. I was advised to send an email, Michel. I did that, and eventually received a reply saying they assume I am on Windows 10, 64 bit. I had to tick a box saying, yes. Not heard back yet. Who advised to send an email? Beware of scammers trying to steal your data. Be careful of PMs (personal messages). Adobe does not help by mail or only if that is absolutely clear. All mails from Adobe end with 'adobe.com'. You have to start a 'chat' session rather than waiting for a phone connexion which may be longer to get. Did you manage to start that session?

Just got back, Michel. It was the community forum staff who gave me the email address to write to. No way do I do chat. This is the reply I have just received - Thank you for letting me know
We would like to inform you that PSE 15 is too old and no longer available and supported with Windows 10 64 Bit And Secondly PSE 15 servers have been shut down. If you will try to install or update it further then it will create conflict with your system. so we can do is we provide you the PSE 2020 so you can able to start your work in a proper way.
Love your reply, Clive. I am going now to see how much 2020 is going to cost. I shall be coming round with my begging bowl later.

If you have Windows 7 install media you might consider installing Windows 7 in a virtual environment and then install PSE 15 in the virtual Win7.

Whippet, The link given by 99jon (one of the best and oldest helping volunteers) is not a mail adress, it's the access to Adobe Help site. Since you could not start a chat session, I assume you received a PM (personal message). It may be from an Adobe staff member for Elements, but you should ignore it. If you really follow the links and succeed in getting in touch with Staff dedicated to activation, this will be solved in a few minutes. I'll comment on your initial post on Adobe forums so that you can get more detailed help in starting a chat session. There are several confusing new rules about downloading older Elements versions and that may explain the answer you did receive (from whom?) But the only thing Adobe has to do is to remove the activation link from the old computers and let you free to enter your license key with the new computer. Right, folks, all sorted at long, long last. Michel - It was Adobe 24x 7 that I was in touch with. Peter & Sepiana - The start of the problem was because I had to get a new computer - with Windows 10. I did not exceed the limitations, as I only have one computer. It took 2½ hours for the program which I have purchased, to install. I was going to try it out today, only to discover that there was an update to install first.. . . . another 1½ hours this one took. Now I need some R/R. upload pic

I am just going to add some clarification in case someone else finds himself/herself in this situation. It can be tricky! Even you have only one computer, the installation limitations -- up to two computers -- were exceeded. What Adobe was doing was looking at this PSE 15 scenario . . . First activation -- used on old computer, computer broke down, computer repaired; identification with the activation servers broken (activation lost). Second activation -- used on the now-repaired computer. Now you have a new computer but you have no activation left.

Glad to hear it got sorted. My recollection is that when I had my PC's main Hard Drive switched to a Solid State Drive I was advised to deactivate all PSE versions before cloning from the old drive to the new. I assume from this that the activation count is based on the serial numbers of the drive it's installed on - so you can run into problems like this even when all you are doing is upgrading the same computer.
