Storm clouds (and a seat, trees and lake) from a distance - the sun was still shining where I was but not for long ... Tony Tony, despite the storm clouds in the distance, this is such a peaceful, bucolic setting. Great capture!

kdcintx, you found an empty street . . . letting your camera "see" in the distance. Very clever!

Not what I had in mind for this, but we're shuttered inside for the next few days. In the distance is the skyline of Portland's South Waterfront district ... preceded by the leading edge of smoke from the wildfires raging in the West. This is from two days ago and the last time we were able to see any sky. Hopefully by next Mon or Tues we'll be able to see across the parking lot again. Thanks for the theme Sepiana ... if this one rolls around again I'll come up with something better! Bill, this is amazing! It looks like a scene straight from a sci-fi movie. This is an image to be kept for posterity.

This qualifies as "from a distance" on a couple of counts. Photographed on Wednesday, September 9 near Police Outpost Lake in SW Alberta. In the lower right is Chief Mountain, Montana USA: from one country to another. The stars are part of the Milky Way Galaxy: from one solar system to many others. Clive, what an impressive shot! The Milky Way makes it . . . an "out-of-the-world" distance.

A 9/11 Tribute from Mt. Mitchell in Atlantic Highlands, NJ. Monmouth County's 9/11 Memorial is a tribute to 147 men and women who lost their lives in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001-- men and women born, raised, or residing at the time in Monmouth County. Helen, this is the kind of image that elicits a strong emotional response from the viewers. Let us never forget!

Two looks at my town "from a distance". Rick, and two great looks, giving us a glimpse of your town in the distance. My favorite is the first image. Beautifully composed -- railroad tracks, leading lines, vanishing point.

It's not a very 'distant' distance, but relatively the crows are in the distance. Bill, you outdid yourself here with this winner. What a beautiful image! It looks surreal!

One more - from an early walk with the dog around the lake - always impressed with how good phones are getting at taking pictures as long as you don't mind having everything in focus! Tony Tony, this is a beautiful shot! I love the reflections -- mirror-like (courtesy of Mother Nature and well captured by you).
