An interesting Tutorial by Blake Rudis. He uses the clone stamp tool on a separate layer and "Blend if" to fix blownout highlights in a sky. This is a tutorial using the full PS. But it can also be done with PS Elements using the "Layers XXL" Plug which gives "Blend if" functionality. Without the "blend if" function, I suppose you could use the clone stamp on its own layer and play around with the blend modes and transparency to get a convincing result. Fix Any Highlight Blowout in Photoshop in SecondsKind regards Chris

Hi Chris, I always use the clone stamp on a transparency layer, you need to have 'Sample All Layers box' checked, then your virtually able apply any number of adjustments to the cloned layer and Transform tool.

Chris, thanks! Added this tutorial to my "Blake Rudis Database". I'm a big fan of his! Elements+, an add-on created by one of our members -- Andrei Doubrovski -- will give Elements this functionality (with the perks of an in-house five-star customer service ). Blend If

Never new Blend If was available with PSE so that's good, mate of mine uses it a lot in his PS, I've always done two copy layers from the background image, layer two I add a 'Add Layer Mask' and with soft edge brush erase the unwanted area, then layer one I would use one of the Enhance tabs like the Hue/Sats, then with Transform tool adjust layer one to get best results for layer two, not always as simple as that but I always got good results.
Once I get the chance to load my PSE 2021 I look forward to giving it a try, my mate gets some brilliant results using Blend If.

Never new Blend If was available with PSE . . . Once I get the chance to load my PSE 2021 I look forward to giving it a try, Jim, I'm afraid I confused you. There is no Blend If functionality in PSE 2021 (or in any other PSE version). In my previous post I was talking about Elements+, an add-on, created by Andrei Doubrovski.
