I don't even like this, but posting as it took me 12 minutes to cobble together. From my brief walk across the road this afternoon. A triptych of three squares. PS: I bet jackscrap is laughing at all of the snow and cold photos!!

I like this, Clive. I struggle with triptych ideas. You did very well!

I dug this shot from my archives. A souvenir of our visit to Mount Rushmore several years ago. I thought I would amuse myself attempting to transfer it to black and white. Surprisingly, the most difficult part of the exercise was cropping an accurate square. i.ibb.co/wyScsTp/Mount-R-Sq-12.jpgDennis

Interesting idea for this challenge, Clive. Each of the images work well individually. Dennis, striking image presented in square crop. Surprisingly, the most difficult part of the exercise was cropping an accurate square. Finding just where to crop has been a challenge to me as well. But just in case you might be referring to creating the square, once you select the crop tool, you have the option to select a 1:1 ratio in the crop option menu.

Took this one from the window last night. Lots of noise that doesn't seem as evident when converted to black and white.

My first two cameras were square format (film) so I'm quite enjoying this theme. Shot 1:1 in camera and edited in Adobe Camera Raw. Thanks Helen.

This is a three horizontal-shot photomerge to enable a wider composition. Merge done in Photoshop, and edits in Adobe Camera Raw.

Nice angle on the old building, Bill. This is a three horizontal-shot photomerge to enable a wider composition. You sent me to Google for this, Bill. Somehow I didn't realize that this could be done using photomerge. Good to know for this challenge.

Used a high key filter in SE2 to enhance the snowy look. I usually don't like to add a border but in this case I thought it helped to contain the image.

Like how that snowy tree stands out against the trees in the background, Tony.

Another one from yesterday......thinking it is the snow that is making it look so grainy?

I took this yesterday....and in this case embraced the grainy look. I used a Triste preset over a straight black and white conversion and adjusted opacity to my liking.
