Hello, and I hope that those of you that celebrate it are enjoying long Easter weekends, you are healthy and well, and are coping within whatever restrictions are in place in your areas. Thank you for the wonderful submissions last month. As it is now spring here in the northern hemisphere (apologies to the more southerly contingent) for this month I would love to see images that show new life, new starts, or recovery; take that however you will. The challenge is that spring images are often all about the colours, so I'd love to see innovative ways of seeing this without reliance on the usual yellows and greens. Of course, it is often recognised that a black and white lends gravitas to an image, so certainly should work for images that are focusing more on a recovery from our situation, rather than nature. Let your imaginations run riot and I look forward to seeing (and submitting) what the forum comes up with.
Edit: I haven't been onto the forum for a while so I hadn't noticed that great minds clearly think alike, and this is broadly the same theme as the Weekly Challenge. Sorry, and I hope we can all cope with this as the requirements are different. Indeed it might be good to see how many of the entries in the Weekly Challenge translate into Black and White.

Read this before I came on Alex and had an idea for something that I might see happening at one of the marinas across the street. Not what I had originally thought of but I think this lone boat is an indication of what will be a start of new activity at the marina. I will keep an eye out for my other idea.

I went back in my archives and did a B&W conversion of new life #70 - will have to get the camera out and try and catch the baby rabbits - found what looked like a nest today so expect them soon! Tony

The story, albeit fictitious, goes like this. A new Spring, a new marriage, a new home, a new union and new life. I shot this double exposure this morning to try to convey the storyline. The magnolia are in exquisite bloom right now, and the beautiful old house is briefly unoccupied as new owners prepare to move in. Whether or not the story was conveyed I had a lot of fun shooting double exposures. Edits in ACR. Thanks for the theme Alex.

Bilz, I envy your spring blossoms. Our DIL is currently in Vancouver visiting our granddaughter and she sent magnolia and cherry blossom photos. So nice. Also from the archives. Apple blossoms spring 2020.

The magnolia at home finally came out today - I shot this with the camera set to black and white (Fuji Acros) so this is pretty much straight out of the camera. Tony

Playing around with some old photos and realised this would fit the theme - converted in Lightroom using a preset and then tweaking the colour grading to add a touch of duo toning Tony
