Mariette, I used the rectangular marquee tool to select the portion of the side window that was not involved with the glare. I placed this on a new layer (CTRL+J) Used the move tool to position the "digital patch" over the area with the glare Sharpened a bit with unsharp mask.

Ken,
This is a great tip. I had forgotten about this technique. I use it a lot but with a slight variation.
1. Feather the selection (3-5 px) depending on the image. This will help the selection blend naturally with the background.
2. Hold down Shift-Ctrl-Alt (Shift-Cmmd-Opt on a Mac) and drag the selection to the area to be fixed. This will duplicate the selection as you move it.
3. Once you are done and you realize the selection doesn't blend well with the background (more feathering is needed), you can just do Ctrl-Z until you are back to the Feather step and change the amount.
