After I posted it I wondered if it should have been cropped? And seeing it now....remove the drainage openings. I like these simplistic contrasty B&W shots of everyday stuff. Helen, I think the crop is too tight as that black rectangle is sort of dangling. So I'd either clone out the black or add a bit of tile floor.

an you make a video into a single panarama? Pat There has to be a way although I am not too sure of the quality would be great. With video editing software (like PE Premiere) you can capture freeze frames, so you could capture (say) five or ten images spaced apart but with suitable overlap. And then stich in PSE or other software. I love panos!! Clive

Thanks, Clive. I am so good at seeing things AFTER I post them! So a closer crop and then one with the floor.

With video editing software (like PE Premiere) you can capture freeze frames, so you could capture (say) five or ten images spaced apart but with suitable overlap. And then stich in PSE or other software. I am not familiar with videos - can you make a video into a single panarama? Pat, Photoshop Elements used to allow you to capture a single frame from a video and use it the way you would a still photo (in this case, a panorama). However, this feature was removed in Photoshop Elements 12. The suggested alternative is to use Premiere Elements.
Source: What features from previous versions are not available in Adobe Photoshop Elements 12?Do you also have an earlier version of Photoshop Elements? Version 11 and below? If so, . . . 1. In the Editor, go to File>Import>Frame From Video. 2. Click on the Browse button and navigate to the video you want. The first frame of the video will appear in the preview window. 3. Click on the Play button (or use the slider underneath the preview window) to move through the video until you get to the frame you want to capture. 4. Once you locate the frame you want, click on the Grab Frame button. 5. Click on the Done button. NOTE:- You can capture as many frames as you want and then click Done. - Each frame will show up in the Editor as a separate file. - These imported frames will have a fairly low resolution; they won't yield great prints.

So a closer crop and then one with the floor. Seeing both, I prefer the tighter crop. Composition and cropping can be very personal and subjective. Your arty shadow photo might be worth millions! Here.

I prefer the tighter crop. I do as well. Your arty shadow photo might be worth millions! Here. What a great share for this thread! I belong to an Art Guild. When I first started visiting their exhibitions and seeing images that were awarded medals I would sometimes ask myself "Why?" Then one year I was awarded a medal for this B/W.......and I could see people asking themselves....."Why?" It is so subjective but I have acquired a better appreciation of differing points of view. I think that is evident in our IOW....and I love the diversity of botho the images submitted and our judges' selections.

Wandered out to the edge of my village to explore. Not sure if the second one works, as it wasn't quite the perspective I was hoping to achieve. Next time I'll take a ladder

So I had nothing for today. However, we were just coming home from our daughter's and I saw this flower lying on the pavement. I picked it up and my husband said....."Now What are you going to do with that?" I stuck it in a vase and caught the end of the day light on the balcony.

At the carnival.... used the oil paint filter. I loved the bright colors but they don't show well here. They are bright yellow/green with red letters! i.ibb.co/nnFJ2kP/DSC-1422-Edit.jpg

Couple from today, August 1. Virginia creeper on our side fence at home. And twin mule deer fawns filling their faces with ripe barley .. convenient as they don't even have to bed over or reach up. Mouth-level barley heads.
