I wonder how often they land on an old rotten snag like in the top photo and it gives out from under them; it could be just about to go six feet lower; and, his weight out there at the end of the "lever" be all it takes. I'd bet five bucks that it happens. They'd just "Pull up. Pull up." In 2010, I watched a young osprey on the very day it fledged trying to land on a fence post. I missed twice. Too funny.

Maizie is an adorable Yorkie who walks with her owner in the park across the road.

What a great picture of Maizie. She's precious. She certainly is. Never barks. She is not the most "affectionate" dog but always happy.

An unusually warm sunny day for a walk round the lake that still has a crust of ice on it. Was very apparent that spring was in the air for the Canada Geese and it was entertaining to watch them pairing up and defending the territories they'd picked out. Here's a pair I was quite close to - they weren't interested in me or the camera but the male was being very defensive towards a pair that were flying overhead and exchanging honks! Tony

Went to a Banksy exhibition in the city today . Can't beat a bit of subversion to make you think about things.
