Two from today. Another daisy to match Tony's but I chose to make it asymmetrical by offsetting the flower and balancing it with two buds. About 5 km west of our house is a large timothy hay exporting company that processes and ships thousands of ton of hay cubes and de-hy hay products across North America and to Asia, with Japan being a primary market there. Ten years ago one of the huge hay barns burned to the ground (the hay bales smoldered for days) and we were able to get close to take photos and I got some good action shots of firefighters holding hoses. Well, Round Two was this evening and there was a huge fire again, this time attacking small fabric covered sheds. This time there was no possible way to get close which was just as well. This is our local fire department on scene.

Love the details on that yellow center of the daisy, not so sure about all that smoke though, what an awful thing to happen so close by.

Peterj, this looks like a lot of fun, I like the idea of including wine in the activity, helps with creativity for sure.

Nice story-telling image, Pete. I like the way you captured her so focused on what she was doing. Sounds like fun . And it was 36°C at the time...can't imagine wearing a fire suit in that heat! My first thought. Do they know what caused it? That is a neat lettuce, cjt. So glad you posted it.......reminds me of a Christmas tree!

Do they know what caused it? Not heard. It is a hay plant with tons of dried hay bales. It has been very hot here, but the fire likely started from a spark or hot exhaust. There was a huge fire at the same plant about 10 years ago. And then found this guy through the reeds.... Aww ... a young whitetail deer? WOW that sure is lush.

jackscrap , how on earth did you create that cloud Rubik's cube? Neat! This cube was created using an action by Panosfx, no effort required on my part.

It was Canada Day today so a Canadian flag would seem appropriate - taken early this morning (with a slightly faked sky) Tony

Since our clubhouse doesn't have an appropriate method for displaying quilts we decided to take pics and post the pics on an art board. These are just a sample of the Quilting Club's charitable contributions.

Nice Peter. Quilters are good souls. My wife donates everything she makes and spends all summer making lovely quilted Christmas stockings for hospitals. My photos today are a delphinium in our yard and a damselfly across at the ponds.

Stopped by the local lotus lake to see if they had started blooming yet and was pleased to see they had. The nice thing about lotus is that they have a very long flowering season so will be back for more pics later. Here's the lake - a beautiful cool day and we had the gardens to ourselves. Getting up close to a blossom for a pic was tricky but I did find one close to the edge and only got slightly damp feet. Tony
