Neil Armstrong "One small step for (a) man; one giant leap for mankind" “The 'a' was intended,” Armstrong said. “I thought I said it. I can’t hear it when I listen on the radio reception here on Earth, so I’ll be happy if you just put it in parentheses.”

Neil Armstrong "One small step for (a) man; one giant leap for mankind" Oh, Peter. It was a huge moment. Nearly brought me to tears even though I am not a US citizen. I guess it is (yet another) realization of the fleeting years. My wife and I (married 54 years ago on July 18) watched the moon landing together. I took photos of the B&W TV screen that were scanned years ago and I found them! Just wow. (I might post them here.) Thanks for the memories. Clive

Sora is "shore bird" we/I have not seen here at "my" ponds until this year. There must be in irruption (birding word) of them this year as local birders are seeing then everywhere. Last month, I saw one for about 2.3 seconds ( ) hiding behind cattails. Two days ago, birding neighbours told me about soras at the local ponds. I went out early yesterday and got great photos. Then went out again this morning and took "ok" photos. A friend wanted to know the exact location as she would like to see them and I can't go on Tuesday when she is free. So today, I flew my drone high over the pond. Herewith a sora and a drone shot of the area. The female sora has a small fish in its mouth.

I took my visiting east coast family to the Colossal Cave in Vail, AZ. No flash permitted so I was glad I had ProCamera installed on my iPhone.

Rose of Sharon i.ibb.co/dLkRwN4/IMG-2295.jpgiPhone ID, but it is a Hibiscus of some sort. Also, it is the official flower of South Korea and even mentioned in its national anthem. There, I went down the rabbit hole for you all! cjt

Although only about a half hour away, it's been years since I went up to Twin Lights in Highlands. Taken with my phone, I was quite pleased with the way the pano came out.

Been out many times this year to look for grizzly bears in a river valley near our summer place. Was rewarded this evening by seeing a male grizzly only about 100 metres away. The sun was about to set and was behind clouds. This was shot at ISO 5,000. A bit noisy, but we are fortunate to have digital vs Kodachrome 64.
