Disturbed this little cutie who was sleeping in my garden bin under the outside steps. He may look like he's grinning but he certainly wasn't judging by the noises he was making. (I say "he" but I have no idea really, so apologies for the subconscious sexism!)  |

this little cutie who was sleeping in my garden Cool critter. Closest I could find is a Mniarogekko chahoua. They seem to have long, pointy tails and your is flat. |

I think this is it, "The scientific name for the species is Phyllurus platurus and the traditional Darug name for southern leaf-tailed geckos is bayagin." linkAlways amazes me how geckos have evolved to shed their tails if attacked or picked up by them and regrow another. A clever escape mechanism that must drive birds crazy. |

Howard, This is a fine looking building. Wen would it have been built? There was no indication on the building but based on settlement date, population etc and simlar designs elsewhere I'd suggest about 1920's. It was originally the Bank of New South Wales, which no longer exists (I think it became Commonwealth Bank). Not sure what it's used for now . Edit: I've checked and it was built 1875. It eventually became part of Westpac Bank, one of today's "big four" Aussie banks. |

I did not take this picture today, but I just found it today from my archives. I took this picture in 2006. This was in Tennessee. This was the Cabin we rented while in Tennessee for 1 week for 7 of us; 6 adults 1 child, (grandson). We had NO idea what our cabin would look like when we rented it. What a BEAUTIFUL cabin it was!!  And later turned it into THIS  I have no idea HOW I did that anymore!! I am AMAZED I figured out how to do that!! |
