Thank you very much, Clive, for selecting my image and your comments. You are right in that the figure, the way he is standing and even his dark clothing, makes the image. But when you say that some thought must have gone into it... I was lining up the shot of just the memorial when he walked into shot. I have to admit, I cursed gently and muttered to myself "don't stop, don't stop, don't stop... oh darn!". Took a couple of pictures while I waited for him to leave and once he had gone I finally got the shot I actually wanted. It was only back at the computer and I saw all the images that I threw them all away apart from this one, which was head and shoulders above what was my intention. Happenstance is a great thing...
Congratulations to Pete and Kathy for their great images, far more deserved for thought, composition and execution!
