Different Train Companies each have their own type of running stock with distinctive liveries. Here Thameslink and SWR pass each other on the approach to Lewisham Station in south London. i.ibb.co/p26DdbV/2-T.jpgMatthew

Oops! I've made a blunder - the photograph above is Matthew's, but as he is profoundly deaf he is not comfortable writing the text, so I always do it for him. This evening I received the following "slap on the wrist" text message: "Thanks. But not SWR. It is Overground. Also not to Lewisham station, it is Brockley Station. Overground train." I am suitably chastened.....

Two freight train encounters today: one heading east and one west. (Just, BTW, we do not have passenger trains in the southern prairies.) Three engines (two CPR and one BNSF) hauling assorted resource cars going west. The tanker cars contain anhydrous ammonia and methanol. Westbound train through our small town. Probably hauling grain to Vancouver and then on to Asia.

These new indicator boards at Waterloo Station give valuable information as to what time and from which platform your train will leave. Incidentally, they also give a good picture of the disruption caused by Storm Eunice and its aftermath - two days after Eunice, the high winds are still causing delays and cancellations. i.ibb.co/f8RTRgf/W-1.jpgi.ibb.co/6YdcbG8/W-2.jpgBrenda

I must have known. This is waiting to be framed. British Rail map. 1946 whippet, the timing was perfect. What a great entry for this challenge! Definitely worth framing.

My wife presented me with this sign after my photo sessions capturing Big Boy One more from my wife ...Pete, great thinking out of the box train-related signs. I like the humor in the 2nd sign. Pete, great thinking out of the box for this theme -- train-related signs. I like the humor in the 2nd sign. Kudos to your wife for giving you these gifts.

Always looking for a good excuse for a perspective shot - so here's the CN track near home. And a little further along the line was able to catch a train Tony, keep doing so. Great use of perspective in both shots. My favorite one is the 1st shot; it shows your knack for symmetry.

Perfect ... without moving from my desk chair, here's the calendar on the wall right in front of my face. I'll post something else that takes a little more thought and creativity than this, but couldn't resist the low-hanging fruit. Thanks Sepiana ... this cracked me up! ;-) Bill, this cracked me up too. Low-hanging fruit? Nothing wrong about "grabbing" it. And you even gave some thought to composition (portrait orientation following the calendar shape). More than just a better try. This is an intriguing image with your little friends. A hobo lifestyle? Where did you find this jewel?
