I just happened to be out and about today with my dog, enjoying the 70° spring day. I took a bunch of photos of a gaggle of honkers on this small pond about 15 miles from home. This shot happened to have just 3 in the frame, and I hadn't even checked to see what this week's theme was. Finally got a chance to get out with a new lens (Canon EF 100-400 L IS II) I bought a couple of months ago. Very pleased with it. Rick, perfect timing. I really like the use of negative space in your shot. It adds a sense of motion to it. Welcome back to the WP challenge! And . . . congratulations on your new lens!

"One is the loneliest number" (thanks Three Dog Night), but it's a odd number so it meets the requirement. There were a bunch of Ring-Billed Gulls circling and feeding at the larger reservoir a few miles north of the previous location. A few good captures and a bit of cropping and I got something useful. Apparently a lot of bait fish were schooling there, as several cormorants were also feeding in the same area. Rick, it indeed fits this week's theme. Very effective composition -- no clutter. The gull is the star of the show.

From the morning walk - three trunks ... Tony, great finding! Mother Nature was on your side. I like the portrait-orientation, following the vertical lines of the tree trunks.

Sitting in a cabin on a B-Day getaway for my wife .... Pete, great job noticing those 5 wooden knots on the wall. I like your fill-the-frame composition, a very effective way to catch the viewers' attention.

whippet , you nailed it -- three gnomes, five dogs. These shots definitely abide by the Rule of Odds.

The Rule of Odds is definitely in charge at this Overground station in north London - but I do admit that it may not be a literal interpretation of the theme. Brenda Brenda, great thinking of out the box! I like your creativity. The Rule of Odds is at play at this station.

Did you know that the number of spokes on a car wheel is more often an odd number? I didn't but having looked at two cars they were both odd. Apparently with cast alloy wheels an odd number of spokes reduces stress as the casting cools - although another theory is that an odd number is more visually pleasing. Anyway here's my odd wheel - needing a clean after driving through mud puddles: Tony, great discover! It fits this week's theme to a T. I really like how you got up close and personal with this dirty wheel. BTW, I didn't know it either. Living and learning!

Three windows in our Parish Church. Dennis Dennis, you nailed this shot -- symmetry in the composition, great capture of the architectural details and . . . abiding by the Rule of Odds.
