I always feel compelled to try to help when you post these questions but I'm not sure if I'm giving you the best advice. Hopefully someone else will add their thoughts. My preference would be for the natural triangular arrangement of the second one. I am bothered by the light pinkish color in the background. To address this I duplicated the image and then flipped the middle one horizontally. I then masked in the darker parts and did some work with the spot healing tool.

I prefer the chopsticks Peter. I submitted some roses from a shoot this morning, but I'm glad there is still plenty of time. Bill

This is certainly one of the main reasons I post here ... many times I'm too engaged in the challenge and overlook some faults! This hibiscus is the first image I captured for this challenge, I have a few more ideas.

For me, first photo with the chopsticks is a bit more interesting. I agree with Helen about the pinkish areas being distracting in the second one. Waiting to see your other ideas.

Here is another vote for your chopsticks image. I'm not a fan of the second image with or without the pinkish areas I'm afraid.

The chopsticks from the originals for me, too, Pete. What rock is that? A friend has one similar, which she brought back from holiday in USA.

I think that creativity is best shown with the chopsticks. The first leaf may be a better example of a triangle, but the triangular composition is shows better in the chopsticks. Just my opinion.

Al long as we've got this thread going... I think I'm going with a Canadian coastal defense ship (HMCS Edmonton) that is visiting Portland for our Rose Festival this week. I like the triangles formed with the lines of flags reaching to the mast, and the traingular flags themselves. Or should I stick with the roses?
