I like the blue/yellow color combination from in this picture taken earlier today for the B/W Challenge. However, it seemed to lose impact when converted to B/W. So I'm adding it to this thread. Rereading the series of articles I found a ton of sensor spots that had to be removed as referenced by Jonathan Colbert in the articles above.....

Thanks for these posts. I've been motivated to try ICM again. You really are getting good at it, Helen.

Maybe we can encourage each other in this pursuit, kdcintx.

I'd missed this thread before - so just started playing with the technique for the B&W Challenge. Some great examples above. Will have to experiment some more in colour!

Saw this post by Pep Ventosa on Instagram and it reminded me of a picture I had taken in Amsterdam. Used the PSD referred to on the previous page of this thread. A similar effect is the Adamski Effect which can be achieved with Photoshop Elements. Inspiration Amsterdam image

Created using a motion blur of 90° and adjusting amount. Added the Cassanova texture from Adobe Paper Textures and framed.

🤣 I remember doing this ~65 years ago (as a teenager)!! Had a simple Kodak camera (weren't they all?) with a 'bulb' setting. Went driving around town one night capturing the colorful neon lights using the bulb function. Pure experimentation! Back then, you never knew what you had captured until the film got developed and mailed back! "Photoshop" is where you went to look at camera's and maybe buy film! 😁 It appears some are much more artistic than I am... 😱

Helen, the motion blur version is very artistic and I like it better than the original cityscape. Fantastic!

Used the DeFocus Motion PSD again.....for PE user who are interested in this look, try this workaround, Filter>blur>Motion Blur.... 90 degrees for the angle and a distance of 640. Play with blend layers and masks to get the look you want.

The 90 degree motion blur works well with the vertical architectural elements in this photo. Very nice effect.

Hi Helen, I tried the work around, adjusted the opacity, cut out the subject and added a lightened vignette. Thanks for the work around.
after viewing my post, the image looks better on my computer ... go figure.

Thanks, kdcintx . Nice image for this effect, PeteB . Glad the work around worked for you. after viewing my post, the image looks better on my computer ... go figure. I sometimes feel that way, too. I use cubeupload occasionally and for whatever reason feel that it may give me a closer representation for what I am seeing on my computer.
