Image from morguefile. A couple of splatter brushes by obsidiandawn, a brush from the GaucheGrunge 3 collection by Frenchkiss and the ink textures linked to in the instructions above.

Well this is a great incentive to try another one, Lillias. Masterful!

VickiD.......here's the house...it was a quick phone snap Helen, WOW! That little cottage really improved with your transformation! I vaguely remember seeing this one, but it's been a while and I can't remember where it was. I need to get back to OG in the Fall for some new shots!

Brought some color back from the original image.....but looking at your ship, I definitely need more practice. Love the ship!

Lillias, I, too, love your ship! I definitely need more practice. Hmmm...do I really need to sleep?
Helen, I like the touch of color in your garden image...it's a lovely image and that adds to its appeal.

Well I had fun with this but I’m not sure if I like the end result! This time I started with the Poster Edges Filter and also the Find Edges Filter and at some point combined the two. The image is from Pixabay and I used a combination of Mastercolour brushes by Nathan Brown of Trailhead Designs and Ink Grunge brushes by FrenchKiss. I believe I also used a couple other brushes but can’t remember which ones. When you are in the moment and experimenting with Filters and blend modes etc; it’s difficult to keep a note of exactly what was done. I know I have 13 brush layers using different blend modes and opacities as seemed fit. For the final step I introduced a touch of colour from the original image.

I like the added touch of color, Lillias. Comparing this to your example in the first post, my preference would be for the "cleaner" look of the first one. But then when I look at watercolor portraits created in photoshop I always prefer the ones with little work done on the face......which is not so "artsy". So I think it is a matter of preference/style.

There are some great examples in that link you provided Helen. I agree with you - it is a matter of preference/style and there are so many styles to choose from. Like a child in a sweetie shop - which delectation do you go for first! LOL.
