First I extracted the image from the background and duplicated that. I wanted a simple black outline of this image so I applied the photocopy filter to the duplicate copy. Using the magic wand tool I selected the white in the photocopy effect and deleted it leaving the black line drawing. I offset the black line drawing on top of the original image. I placed a mask on the original image and using black painted out some of the colour to try and effect more of a coloured in sketch effect. I introduced a new background layer ‘Vintage Papers2’ from the Coffee Shop. This is my version of a technique which I’ve seen but don’t know if there is a name for it or not! BillieJean, I have no idea what is called either but it is definitely an eye-catching effect. Very creative and effective use of different techniques.

Pexels background; Studio 2 remix filter; Meredith images texture; Jodi frame. Jim, very creative editing. I love the painterly look you achieved. Art gallery material! Do you remember which Meredith Images texture you used?

Yes, after applying the Topaz A1 remix filter (Ancient Slate) I took it back to Elements 2023 and over-laid the result with Meredith Images "G1 - Peacock Blend" texture. Then added a layer mask and painted off most of the texture that was above the table to allow the window lights to brighten things up a bit.

I don't think I have this texture. Time to get it!

Created the stained glass effect with fotofrank's template tutorial for CE #69. That's very attractive, Sepiana. I like how the individual items' colors are each affected by a different piece of stained glass.

We can change the layer blending mode to achieve different color effects. We can even use it to create a frame. You can see it in action in this thread.
