After a trip to the eye doctor, my eyes are dilated...I can vaguely see these images and will comment tomorrow. Sorry for the delay folks!

If anyone is in the market for a gently used sailboat, I shot this beauty this morning. Foggy morning on the Willamette River. BW conversion in camera with a Tri-X Push film simulation in a Fuji X100V. ISO 400, f/5.0, 1/125 sec. Thanks for the theme Vicki!

billz, great image! I really like the way the water at the foreground looks ominous, like it took joy in the destruction of the sailboat! The far shore is lovely and misty and totally ignorant of the destruction of the river. A real dichotomy!

tourerjim...Jim, that truck really is abandoned, as in, there's not much else around it (on this side of the fence, anyway). Great image for this topic! Gee, pete61, I wonder how many years THAT vehicle has been abandoned! I really like the effect you used on this image. It fits the subject perfectly! Tony, what makes you say that? LOL It's a great subject for this topic--I especially like the angle of the rear tire and the 'missing teeth' on the grill! Peterj, what a great find! Your image is strong with all the rocks being well defined. Fits the topic quite well, too.

Raley grain elevator. February 3, 2023 Deep in the south west corner of Alberta is the former town of Raley, home to the province’s oldest grain elevator. Built in 1905, this old timer sits along an abandoned rail line.

Excellent find, Clive! I really like the layers of the background, the darker of which brings out the top of the grain elevator. It looks like a very desolate place!

I really like the layers of the background, the darker of which brings out the top of the grain elevator. It looks like a very desolate place! Thanks. The distant "hill" was shaded by a cloud and that helped the contrast. Not overly desolate, but sparsely populated. There is a road to the elevator and a friend has taken Milky Way photos there. Nice when there are no horizon lights. And, yes, desolate in that there is no nighttime light pollution down there.

The starter image, and this one of yours, Helen, aren't loading for me. All the others have.

Room With a View One from my archives. Really fitting title for this one, Jim! That's SOME view...and you can peek between the wall boards. LOL You can't have found this in downtown LA...I'm curious where you found it. Anyway, I really like the processing you've given this image. It also is fitting and adds a bit more 'aging' to the scene. Just found this one in my collection as well, 1967 Bedford Dormobile. tourerjim , I have never seen a vehicle like that one. Don't think they made an appearance in the US. It's interesting how the junk around it takes a back seat to the vehicle...it's the star! Great conversion and really interesting subject. May have posted this before but taking a quick look I didn't find it. Added a sketch effect. Roadside stand in Maine. Image added with Cubeupload. Helen, until I read that this was in Maine, I was scratching my head trying to figure out where in NJ you found this gem! The building has a lovely sense of decline...it seems to be slowly sinking in the middle and dragging the remainder of the building with it. Love your conversion for this one...the sketch effect you added was the right touch.

Vicki, I shot that several years ago at an old park near Valencia or Stevenson Ranch, CA. I don't remember the name of the park or even remember how to get back there, LOL.

Once common around here there are not many windmill water pumps left and, like this one, almost all have been abandoned. Surprisingly it still spins! Conversion done in Silver Efex using a modified vintage preset. Tony
