Because images are so central to our forum, we installed a plugin early on that allows any member to create their own personal Gallery of images.  Please see this FAQ to find out how to create yours!

Additionally, the author of the Member Gallery plugin wrote an auxiliary plugin that gives you a notification when one of your gallery images is commented on.

Here is how it works:

• When a new comment is made on an image in your gallery, a 'bubble' will appear above Gallery in the main menu.
  
• Click on Gallery and you will see a list of all members that have entered new comments (see Figure 1).
  
• Click one of the member names and you will be taken to the page containing the image they commented on.
• There will be a red border around the the thumbnail of the image with a new comment; click the thumbnail to read the comment (see Figure 2).
  
• The number in the notification bubble will be decreased by one, allowing you to peruse each of the new comments one at a time.
  

It is wonderful to know when your gallery images receive comments, and hopefully you will be encouraged to make comments on the images of others, knowing that they will be notified of your comment!

Additional information related to member galleries

1. The Latest Gallery Posts button in the main menu will show you the most recent additions to all individual member galleries.  This is a great way to easily see what's new, and it also allows you to Like () images of other members!  (This is the only place gallery images can be Liked, BTW.)

2. Many members add a link to their gallery in their signature.  This is a nice thing to do, and makes it easy for others to view your gallery.  A Signature is "self-assigned text or images added to the bottom of every user post".  Please see this FAQ to find out how to add a link to your gallery in your signature.

3. You can change the name of your gallery; here's how: click the first image in your gallery, then click the Edit button.  In addition to the attributes of the image you will also be able to modify the Gallery Title.

4. You can edit or delete any comment.  Here's how:

• Hover the mouse over the comments field below an image in your gallery; it will turn gray.
• Click within the comments field to enter the comment editor.
  
• To delete a comment, click the red X next to it.
