There are details you can't see unless you enlarge this one. Wow. That's nice.

Scenic railway, Kuranda, FNQ (Far North Queensland) Nice curves and composition. Is that a "tourist" train?

"the disappearin' railroad blues." The rail ties are old and need replacing. The rails are rusting. The trains are gone. And this bridge, while it still crosses some unknown creek in Arkansas, no longer feels the rhythm of the rails.

Originally built in 1891, goes from Cairns on the coast to up and over the Great Dividing Range to the Atherton tablelands and the town of Kuranda. There are stops along the way to view waterfalls.

My bridge is Knecht's Covered Bridge. It was built in 1873 and is located in Bucks County, PA. Converted to B&W with Silver Efex.

Went out this morning to shoot the Steel bridge. Opened in 1912 it is the only double-deck bridge with independent lifts in the world. The lower deck carries heavy rail (as well as a separate bike/pedestrian path), while the top deck carries cars, buses and light rail. This is a 15 second shot with 14 stops of ND filter. BW conversion in-camera using a Tri-X 400 Push film recipe. ACR for a contrast adjustment, and a quick sharpening in Topaz. Fuji X100V. I'm enjoying everyone's photos from around the world. Thanks for the challenge.

One more bridge (for now...we still have over half a month to add more!). This is the Verrazano Narrows Bridge connecting Brooklyn and Staten Island, New York. I'm sure the Staten Islanders had mixed feelings about opening their quaint little borough to all the folks from Brooklyn who flooded across that bridge! Prior to the bridge, the most direct way for them to join their fellow New Yorkers was to take the Staten Island Ferry to downtown Manhattan--which is still a fun ride! Anyway, this was shot from our balcony on the one and only cruise we ever took...we had just passed the bridge and I wanted to capture it! I'm not sure why I tilted the camera, but it gave me the opportunity to get a bit artsy with it. Hope this doesn't break your rules, Clive!
The background image is the New York City Subway Map, with Staten Island in the lower left and Brooklyn in the lower right...exactly where they were in the photo!

I like how you placed the bridge photo on top of the map. Nice idea. BTW, the horizon line is almost perfectly level and the bridge structure nearly vertical.
