I'm happy to share my IOW selections with you in random order.
Rose by blackmutt
Judy has started us on this learning adventure with Magnolia Textures Paint Studio. I especially like the depth and texture that she was able to bring out in the petals.
Nepal, Bhaktaput 58 by Howard
We occasionally see one of our members share a street photography image. Howard's gallery predominantly features candid images from his many travels. I have chosen two of them to share this round.
To me it is mind-boggling how he can balance and carry this weight on his head and neck with just one hand to steady the load. The assortment of color, shape and textures adds to the interest.
Nepal, Bhaktapur 42
Often in photography I am thinking of how to crop, what is distracting, where do I want the viewer to look, etc.
However it is the haphazard disorder of the overall scene that makes this so appealing to me. And those wires!
Tradescent English Rose by Jim .
Jim has posted a few images featuring his roses. The rich color and velvety texture is beautiful. I had wondered if it was supposed to be "transcendent" so Googled the name.
It seems this is quite a rare rose. I came upon this link which includes an interesting story about the history of the rose. If interested read the first response.
Coast Guard Vessel by pete61 .
I first saw this image when Pete posted it in B/W for the Motion Weekly Challenge.
If you look closely you can see the pilot of the vessel through the window. Considering the rough seas, I thought it was quite a capture.
In contrast, and also by pete61 is this tranquil early morning scene. The colors in the sky behind the snowy mountains and then reflected in the water make this such a beautiful image.
Hyacinth by deany .
It was the way the light sort of drifted down the flower that made this a standout for me. I also liked the brown/black presentation.
Ravenel Bridge by VickiD .
Posted in the Black and White Bridge Challenge, this is just a stellar image. Captured at just the right time and place to show the lights illuminating the bridge's beautiful design.
Thank you to everyone who submitted work to their gallery over the last two weeks. You made it a difficult choice to come up with my selections. If you haven't created a gallery yet, check the newsfeed at the top of the page! Tpgettys has added links which make it easy for you to find everything you need to know!
All of the images will be added to the IOW 2023 Member Gallery
