Hi everyone, Would you like to participate in the Weekly Photo Challenge? Just take a photo that is your interpretation of the theme and post it in this thread. The rules are rather simple.
- Your photo(s) should be your own, i.e., they should not have been taken by someone else. - Photoshopping is allowed but should be kept to the basics only rather than a total transformation. - Grab your camera, experiment, and, most of all, have fun.NOTE Get your camera and capture your community's efforts or your own efforts to live an environmentally responsible life, aiming at protecting Mother Earth from environmental damage and at preserving our non-renewable resources.

Great theme for Earth week! Portland is consistently ranked as one of the top cities in the US for being bicycle friendly. Here's one of our ubiquitous rental bikes. Thanks for the theme Sepiana.

Four years ago this spot was an old oil well and wooden tank dating back to the 1880's - long since disused. Funding was obtained to plug the well, remove the tank and restore the location. Last year a new hiking trail was cleared and several hundred new trees planted in the fall. Walked the trail today and was pleased to see most, like the one in the picture, had survived the winter. Tony, what a great green idea! Trees are powerful allies in our quest for living the green life.

Two ways we can aspire to a greener life - but it's a steep, and sometimes expensive, learning curve. Brenda Brenda, I totally agree. Solar panels and recycling play an important green role in our lives. Hopefully the learning curve will soon be a quick and inexpensive process.
