Inspired by Clive's photos - photoshopelementsandmore.com/thread/10368/park-ponds-roadHere is my first sighting of White Pelicans. Until then, I was only familiar with brown ones From then on, these guys have been steady visitors - with upwards of 3 dozen at one time This is a revision of an old layout photos: cats4jan (from my backdoor)

Here is my first sighting of White Pelicans. Until then, I was only familiar with brown ones From then on, these guys have been steady visitors Nice record of this happening. American white pelicans are nice to have around UNLESS they are in a small river or small lake where there are gamefish. They eat a lot of fish. For their size, they are graceful fliers.

It's a manmade retention pond which they stocked with fish. I have a feeling they wiped out the fish and then there was a leak that emptied the pond. The liner is fixed but now we are waiting for the spring rains to fill it back up. Then they will hopefully come back

Pelicans are one of my favourite birds. Great to watch whether it be on the water, land or in the air. Hope the rains come and your visitors return.
