They are all so wonderful, but those owl babies are too cute and growing up so fast.

Excellent photography !Bumble bee and buffalo bean flowers I don't think our Bumble Bees have that orange band on them - just black and yellow.

Clive - fun and beautiful photos - as usual. Thanks for labeling your photos. For me it's not enough to enjoy the photos, I always want to know the name of the critter.

Thank you for you kind comments. It was a good walk and I was pleased with the photos. I don't think our Bumble Bees have that orange band on them - just black and yellow. You are observant. I never gave bumble bees much thought so looked up some info. Turns out that there are 46 species if bumble bees in North America of which 28 live in the province of Alberta. Some are described here including more than one with an orange band. I always want to know the name of the critter. Although I did not know the name of the bumble bee, I agree. I want to know the name of critters.

Beautiful photos, Clive! Hard to pick my faves, but I'm partial to the bumblebee, the Robin, and the yellow-headed blackbird (I've never seen one of these before!).

Thanks for your kind words. Taking photos is most enjoyble and gets me out. Frank --- his name is Frank. HA HA! Good one. didn't realize the coloring Grackles had Normally they are just a noisy black bird but when the sun hits them just right they get nice iridescent colors. One was parked high in our aspen tree this evening and was also pretty. I took photos but I am hundreds behind in reviewing pix. I'll see if I can get at them this evening. Newsflash. This evening two of the owlets left the nest. They were sitting on the rim earlier this afternoon. I went over at 7 PM and they were all up high and as I watching, the biggest owlet flapped its wing and hopped out in a limb. One other also ventured out in a limb. Dad was calling in a tree about 50 meters away. He was not hooting but squawking. They will all be flying in 2 or 3 days.
