A Camera Without A lens

Here is a video report about a camera without a lens! Sometimes, fact can be stranger than fiction!

Interesting for sure. Thanks Chris.
But it really is a GPS (coordinates) based AI system and could not capture the "moment." For example, it could not "see" a dog running across the street; a pot of flowers in a windowsill; a butterfly or am armed robbery. i.e. details of the moment. Today, Google Streets does not cover many rural and remoted areas.  

The final comment was revealing, "we are not sure how cameras would perform in real life."

Sidenote: I am a bit scared of where AI is going. There are al lot of editorials about AI.

Good point Helen! It does seem a bit, "tongue in cheek". It appears to be a one-off contraption based on Google "Street view" and GPS.

I laughed at one of the comments which said something like, "So I can take a selfie---without me in it"! (Hmm, now there's a thought!)

I would much prefer enjoying nature by going out with my trusty conventional camera. If for any reason I am not able to go out, then there are so many wonderful galleries I can enjoy in the "PSE and More" forums!

PS: According to their website they do have a "virtual PC version"
