Well, I was going to post this in The Time of the Year when . . . ( here) because I get an oil change about twice a year in the 2016 Nissan Rogue, and it was that time of year. But decided to put the page in digital scrapbooking because I took a bunch of photos with my ancient cell phone while lingering about the garage waiting for Abe to change the oil. Too complex for a single photo. We live in a small town and been getting oil changes at Harry's Garage for more than 20 years. The garage is owned by Paul and I totally trust him and his opinion about solutions to mechanical problems. ( I can fix it for $800 or for $300 and the $300 repair is probably all you need.) Three years ago, the seal blew in the front differential case in my grandson's 4X4 pickup. The Ford dealership said the differential had to be replaced for $3,300. Paul said that was nonsense and said just replacing the seal was almost certainly all that was needed which he did for about $700. Harry's Garage is typical of a lot of small towns. This is no fancy franchise oil-change shop. I am thinking that BuckSkin knows Harry's Garage or one just like it. The Coke machine has not worked for years. That sofa in the "waiting room" (ha ha) is special. Belts and parts hanging on walls. Cluttered desks and counters. A great place. Five stars. This page is a bit cluttered so you might want to look at the larger version. The page is also a bit dark but that is exactly like the inside of the garage...it is a dull and dingy.

It might be busy, Clive, but I like it. The muted gradient you used for the background was a good choice and the drop shadows on the photos are perfect for separating them from each other. I'm sure the real scrapbookers in this group can give better comments. I think it's a 'feel good' page!

Fabulous page Clive, love how you've put it all together, clutter and all! I'm guessing the sofa is so special that no-one is allowed to sit on it.

I like it....the pictures and your description tell a great story. Thanks Helen. A place like this is a gem. I hope Paul keeps the shop open for a few years. They are quite busy. the drop shadows on the photos are perfect for separating them from each other. Thanks Vicki. At first, the inset border (stroke) was brown but that did not work so went with a blue border. I'm guessing the sofa is so special that no-one is allowed to sit on it. HA HA! I did sit in it for a few minutes. Comfortable. Definitely a bit garish material.

The muted gradient you used for the background was a good choice Thanks. I just used part of the outside of the garage photo and blurred it.

What a great collage of images Clive and I just love the story that goes with them bringing them to life. It’s great to have a garage that you trust. The garage I go to is I think a more modern version of Harry’s Garage and we have found them to be totally trustworthy too. Makes such a difference.
