Hi,
I have recently upgraded from windows 10 to 11. I find the order in which functions are displayed in the dropdown window which first appears, when you first open a file by clicking on it, does not suit my working method.
The functions I use the most are cut, copy, past, & rename. I open the file by double clicking on it. If I want to specify a specific program or App. to open it with I will use as "Open with".
Now, in order to access these actions I have to click "Show more Options" in the first dropdown to open another dropdown. My most used options then display as the last items on the second list?
This is a waste of time and very irritating.
Is there any way that I can prioritize these function options so that my most used actions appear at the top of the first drop down window?
Thanks.

Popcorn, it can be very frustrating when things are changed like this. One of the members here may be able to help. However, you may also find it helpful to post on a a dedicated Windows 11 forum. Eg: www.elevenforum.com/Post on the board, "Personalisation". I hope you will find the answer you are looking for. Kind regards Chris

Thank you both, Sepiana, I did the .reg file conversion and it works!!! What a pleasure!!.
I must say I did it with much trepidation. Not being a computer geek, I knew that if it could be messed up, I would mess it up.

popcorn, you are most welcome! Pleased to hear the .reg file worked. Dealing with .reg files can be a nerve-racking experience but you met the challenge. Kudos to you!

It took me a while to get used to get used to the W.11 context (right-click on a file) menu. The most frequently needed functions had become icons but I still kept opening up 'More Options' to get to places. As time has gone on, I've become happier about clicking on the icons for Copy, Paste and Rename. It doesn't seem half so bad now.
