Thanks for the information, Jim. Your photo is better than many of the ones on that page! I didn't have time to read the history of Art Deco, but have many photos from a couple of visits to South Beach (GREAT architecture) and a book of Erté's designs...fascinating!

tourerjim, What a great cathedral! Love all the details and the crenellations at the top! Helen...wonderful photo...I think the details really make this one above average; especially the arch over the doorway!

I should have posted these earlier, but life got in the way. Anyway, I wanted to add a couple of gargoyles to the mix. This one is from Eastern State Penitentiary in Philly. This was taken during the fall and, apparently, they add the gargoyles for Halloween and their Terror behind the Walls tours. I didn't know that when I took the photo, but am happy that I got to see and photograph them! The next one was taken at Princeton University. They have gargoyles all over the campus on buildings and arches. It turns out, this gargoyle was sculpted by Gutzon Borglum, the same man who sculpted Mt. Rushmore.

Lots of detail in the top of the Royal Courts of Justice aka the Law Courts in London, UK . This was an old image from files of the whole building which needed a lot of straightening and cropping and then finished up pretty fuzzy - Topaz Photo AI to the rescue! Tony
