STEVE or Strong Thermal Emission Velocity Enhancement
Wicked fun late last night. Stayed up late waiting for aurora. They were okay, but we are quite far south and they were low on the horizon. At 1 PM, STEVE appeared. (Having the crazy gene is helpful. ) STEVE is not aurora. This photo is super special. It includes 1) STEVE 2) two meteorites (there are also satellites) 3) aurora on right) 4) " airglow" above and 5) The Big Dipper ... all over the Livingstone Range. The meteorites were pure luck. Getting one meteorite in a photo is rare ... two is wow! Just aurora
