I purchased PSE 2023 last year but kind of ignored the "Guided edit" options until the other day and am playing with them a little now.

This was done via Guided > painterly > bold strokes brush >  hard charcoal light texture > artistic effects > woodblock > and then added some peripheral touches with a blue artistic brush I d/l (from somewhere) in the past. I don't care for the dot-like mask edges but otherwise it pleasantly surprised me.

I like the overall effect Jim but like you I’m not keen on the mask edges.
If you still have your layers, just activate the mask and using a brush with black you can paint new edges or just soften these edges.

Thanks, Lillias, but I already "merged visible layers" before saving it.
