Looking at the recent gallery submissions, I was reminded of the reasons we take/create pictures.
My selections are representative of those reasons.
To creatively express ourselves:
1. Dean’s image is a carefully arranged and photographed still life. As is his style, he selected a number of items to help tell the “story”.
2. It is always a pleasure to see Jim’s beautiful roses. In this instance he has elevated the rose with some books and added textures for a finished look.
To document our travels:
1. Kathy continues to share pictures from her recent trip. I found this black and white image of the three men from Mumbai intriguing. Had me wondering what they were looking at?
2. Howard is another well-traveled member. What I especially liked about his Cotswolds scene was the foreground interest of the young woman on the steps and the animals grazing in the background.
To hone our skills:
It takes skill and patience to capture those fleeting moments in wild-life photography that make an image standout. The interaction between this mother duck and duckling by Pat is a great example.
To remember the special people and pets who mean so much to us:
Eddie was Jim’s much-loved dog . I like the creative way he framed him in the back window of the van and added his name to the license plate.
