This is a mock compass that sits in front of me where the computer is. I thought I would have a try at drawing it and this is the result.. A proper photo of the item.. The drawing showing the number of individually drawn shapes that go into the final picture. It took a while.. As an extra step, I opened the shapes image in Pai nnt and chose a filter and frame. It makes quite a good picture..

A bit mind-boggling to me.....and again I can't help but think of the patience required.

This is amazing work. Very intricate. I’m afraid even if I had the patience to try this my eyes just wouldn’t be up to it now.

I like the framed image of the chaos the best. Waiting to see what else is visible from your computer, and how you deconstruct and then reconstruct it.

Thank you everyone One failing I've has been not saving the constructions in Xara Designer's native format (.xar). If it is saved as this, the picture can be deconstructed at any time to show the bits that make up the final picture. I've got so used to people not being interested in that part that, once exported as a jpeg, I haven't kept the .xar file for some and can't pull the pictures of these apart. I can still show the separate parts for some though. One good aspect of vector images is being able to zoom in on or upsize the parts to a very high degree during construction without any loss of definition or pixelation. For instance, here are a couple of shapes taken from the compass and increased greatly just by clicking on a handle and dragging the size out.. My eyes aren't all that good but when the parts of images can be zoomed in on like this, I can make the parts in a large size and accurately put them together. Once done zoom back out

That’s not meant as a criticism by the way, I’m just commenting.

Yes, I really should have kept them. I have kept the ones that took a few days or more to complete. It's mostly those that only took an hour or two where I haven't kept the .xar files.
